ok i upgraded my RAM to the crucial ballistix tracers, but my problem is that it doesnt boot at all i power it and all the fans come on, the lights on the tracers come on(exept for the activiy lights only blue ones) the cpu fan hard drives, etc but nothing on the monitor, the green light on my asus mobo is lit, can there be a posibility that its the cpu or is it the mobo???? i did get the loong beep before when i booted but know it doesnt beep aqt all pleaqse help?? anyone with same experience??? thanx all!!

Hey Jpetucci, sorry I'm a bit late with a reply, but I'll give it a go anyway.

The system failed a to POST (power on self test). The beeps are the mobo trying to tell you what it thinks is wrong. Look up the codes in the motherboard handbook.

That said, if everything else was working when you changed out the ram, you likely have a bad stick, maybe two. It's also possible the ram isn't getting enough voltage as the ballistix is spec'ed at 2.2 volts. (however, mine will boot at 1.84v). Try booting with one stick and see if it works. Then try the other.

thanx!! I already changed the mobo, seems that ASUS did quite a job on those mem controllers! I thougth that it was my RAM and changed it !! had the kingstons(which are like new) and bought the tracers but i already changed mobo and it works like a charm and plus there are lights in my ram :D
