not sure where your pain threshold is as far as price but I found the patriot 9200 to be very good ram for the money. am using it until my corsair 8888 arrives.

well it is somewhere between price and performance because the kingstons that died could easily get 1200Mhz :(:(:( it went bad when i tryed to go further but things happen.....for the price i wouldnt go too high but for right know i want just one gig single channel just to get it running and then inbest on the same gig to make it dual channel.. im gonna chek those patriot, what model are them???

Dude, you got know when to stop. :( 2.5 volts is really high for DDR2. Everything is going to fail at some point. Just go a little bit slower with the next set of sticks. Oh, and good luck. :)

just a note you dont really need high voltages for ram on the 680i chipset or it kills your sticks, it happened to my brothers old corsair dominator ram, one stick died (on the specced voltage) so we rma'd them and got some new ram, you can usually run specced timings and speed of ram even with lower voltages than what is specified.

i.e. my ram's specced voltage is 2.35-2.45 but i can run it at the specced speed of 1200mhz at 2.10-2.20v. there are plenty of people around that have ram killed because of the 680i chipset im not exactly sure what causes it but i do know it happens.
