With the awesome help of edbiii I've done some initial overclocking and things are looking pretty good so far I believe. Done for the night but will resume with it tomorrow. This is what I've done so far...

Stock (4790k)
CPU core ratio @ 40 (4.0Ghz)
CPU core voltage @ 1.200

OC Test 1
core ratio @ 46 (4.6Ghz)
CPU core voltage @ 1.250
stress test with XTU
results: passed
avg CPU temp 60c (load)

OC Test 2
core ratio @ 47 (4.7Ghz)
CPU core voltage @ 1.250 (no change)
stress test with XTU
results: passed
avg CPU temp 62c

H220-X pump with two 120mm Noctua NF-F12 PWM fans all set manually at 74% during stress test.

Might just might have a 5% chip but tomorrow will tell us more. So glad that I decided on this H220-X. My first dive into H20 cooling and so far a success!

Thanks edbiii for all your help!!!!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's (Sunday 11/2) results.

So finished up with the overclocking and this is what we ended up with...

i7-4790k @ 4.8Ghz (48x100 1.315v) .

CPU cache 46x100 @ 1.275v

Max temp is 68c & average temp 64c during stress test. Now under the XTU stress test everything is stable at 1.265v (CPU) but when running RealBench, a much more demanding test, the computer would hang and restart so more voltage was needed to pass that one. I wanted to try and stay below 1.3v but with the H220-X and the delid with Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra that I did to the CPU, temps are very acceptable at that voltage settings.

Very happy with the outcome and again a million thanks to edbiii
