This has prob been asked a lot .

just finished my q6600 water setup

this machine is run 24/7 under full load (folding)

my question is running a b3 stepping at 9x400 vcore underload is 1.49 t0 1.5

temps with core temp are 56 67 59 59 after 24 hours running stable

question will this chip die under this heat and why so much difference
on the one core .

nah, dont worry ur cpu will be ok! for full load those temps are perfect! I have seen Q6600's in the mid 80's C stable but air cooled, so it shouldn't be a prob!

are those temps underload or idle? either way they look pretty good my qx6700 is running 3.4ghz right now and ive got folding @ home runing on each core and my temps are 73 63 73 63 which is also a B3 stepping.

those are full load temps after 24 hours folding.

i have to run the 2 70 cfm yate loom fans at 12 volts to maintain that temp .

have had the chip to 3.9 but did not run anything idle temps 64c

i so want to fold this thing at 3.6 24/7

and i hear temps all over the place i was thinking 65c was a good max with a cut off of 72

not sure at what temp it begins to throttle at

by the way fastest i was able to run stable was 485 but seems to run fastest in benchmarks with 9x432 but it runs in the low 70s
I dont think i have hit the top of the chip as im looking for 24/7 stable operation.

any thoughts on the pelt cooler by swiftech being used 24/7

oh im running the smp clint the ppd is around 3000

swiftech rocks

idle temps are fans running at 6 volts due to temps .
core temp reads 39 47 43 44

I wouldn't go over 62C for a long period of time with a B3 stepping Q6600. With a G0 stepping, that ceiling is raised to 72C.

that is what i thought . so i backed it down to 9x380 just above 3.4

and the temp readings in coretemp are 55 60 57 58 been running all week.

checking my options .

i was able to get it to 9x450 it did not crash or lock but the scores and system were very slow .

u guru shows 1.39 volts . seems to give me a lot of room to 1.6
but at that voltage is the chip somewere in the 300+ watt range under load .

think the gtx block will hold up to a chiller in the sub range
