I've had a MCW5002-PT ever since it came out years ago. I had it on my original P4 3.2, and have since transferred it to my C2D X6800. I use the auxillary 12VDC power supply.

According to all my thermal monitors, my CPU temps stay at 11C idle and full load. Not bad with a NV 7950 GX2 in the loop, a 650 pump and a triple radiator.

My 1/2" ID loop looks like this:

DD cylinder resevior - MCP650 pump - Black Ice III triple radiator - Y fitting 1 - split to CPU/GPU - Y fitting 2 recombining loop - resevoir

Currently I have a Mountain Mods U2-UFO case with my radiator mounted on the bottom inside front with a 120mm fan on each side. Water temps are around 80F. I plan to relocate the radiator outside the case with 3 fans. Just got to figure out a bracket and hose routing method.

With all that said, I see that the new 6500 still has a 226W peltier similar to the original 5002. Would I get any benefit to upgrading? I'm open to suggestions to make my setup more efficient.

I'd say that seeing you are staying below 11c right now, you should just stick with what you've got. :D

The upgrades are already installed. Just waiting on one of the x2 video cards to come out.

I have it O/C at just 3.2 right now. Running the dominators at 1065, they WILL NOT boot over 1066 at 2.2V.

ive had bad experience with dominators, i killed two sets because of the 680i chipset, corsair have really gone down hill alot of people have said the same because they've started using really cheap chips on their ram. i suggest you change them for something else like G-skill, crucial, mushkin or team xtreem. D9GMH chips are the best out there.
