I just ordered a 225 and an 80 watt TEC for my cpu and gpu respectively.

I'm running a modest rig without SLI and not really pushing my 500watt PSU currently.

If I upgraded to an 800watt PSU would it run both TECs and my current load? Maybe a 1000watt?

I know there is a way to calculate this but I don't know what it is as I am a noob. I read somewhere that the TEC will draw double the amount of watts it is rated to remove but that sounds very high to me.

your getting heat and energy mixed up. a 225 watt tech uses 225 watts of energy, and produces 225watts of heat + the ~100watts (+/- 20 ish :D) of heat from the cpu. so heat wise it's like having 350 watts worth coming off, but the pelt doesnt use more.

225w/12v~=18.75 amps
80w/12v~=6.66 amps

you'll want a powersupply with 4x12v rails imo. 800watts from a good company ought do it, unless you go quad core, quadfire/sli :D
