Hey all,

Im experiementing with TEC's for heating/cooling a build plate on a 3D printer. For the most part it would be used to heat an aluminum plate while hot plastic is being laid down on it. Id like to be able to print in a rather large footprint, so i need to heat quite a large aluminum plate, say 750mm by 500mm.

Right now Im using several 50mmX50mm 100W TEC's I got off ebay from hong kong. These do work fine but I'd much rather have one set of wires going to one large TEC. Plus, I dont need a lot of watts because I only need to heat up to about 70 C or so. So, anyone seen or heard of any large scale TEC's for sale out there??

thanks for any advice!

I'm sure TE technologies can build you a custom one any size you want but the power consumption is going to go through the roof. Not to mention how are you going to dissipate all that cold? It will be a frost nightmare. Why not use an industrial heating pad with a temperature controller? A lot more practical than TEC on that scale.
