I built my last system in 2012 with an Apogee HD and one of the first Maelstrom reservoirs.

From my research the 1155 back-plate can be used for the newer 1151 socket processors. So I am assuming I can just clean up my old Apogee HD and reuse it along with an unopened artic cream paste that I still have???

The Maelstrom unit came with an MCP35X pump that I think should be changed though it has not given me any problems for the last 5 years. Sometimes when cold the pump does make noise but always quiets down. It has never failed or leaked but think its time to put in a new pump with the new build. Is it just a matter of removing the old pump and screwing in the new 35x pump???

Thank you for any help and suggestions you may have.

yes, purchasing a new mcp35x and unscrewing the original will be the best options.
