Hello,

Just so you know, the MCW60 is fully compatible with nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT and 8800 GTS graphics cards. Just use the standard legs bracket (The MCW60 is pre-configured in factory with this bracket); it will fit the 4 mounting holes around the silicon.

here is a picture of the MCW60 installed on a 8800 GT (nvidia's reference design)

Stephen,

I believe that you are missing one heatsink for the trio of mosfets on the bottom of the video card. The bank of mosfets are next to the bottom right memory ramsink.

the 3 (+1) components (2 leg + polarity) next to the memory modules (bottom right) are definitely different than mosfets (4 legs).

I see 3 sets of mosfets: 2 sets are arranged in triangle (underneath MC14 on the pic) and 1 set is like GTS/GTX cards (row of three).

Hey Stephen, could you post a pic of the back side of that 8800GT? I noticed that the Nvidia Reference 8800GT's have two sets of holes around the GPU and I'm wondering which set the MCW60 uses.

I just ordered a Gigabyte 8800GT that is not a reference card and it appears to only have the larger set of holes. Will my MCW60 still be OK on this card?

To answer my own question, it will fit. It finally came yesterday. I haven't mounted it yet as I want to test the card to be sure it's good, but everything looks good. I'll post pics once I've got everything done.

Edit: I posted a thread with lots of pics in the Liquid Cooling forum if anyone would like to see how it all worked out.

Does that mean that its also compatible with the G92 8800GTS as well then? I was looking at the mounting holes and they look identical.

Yes, I should definitely update the first post.

8800GTS under Nvidia's reference design are fully compatible with the MCW60.

I hate to cross post, but just noticed this thread after I posted one in liquid cooling. You mention the MCW60 series, so is it ok to use an old MCW60 on an 8800GT?

I have 2 8800GTs, one older MCW60 without the legs, and one new MCW60-R with the legs. Hole spacing looks the same, the only difference are the leg.

You should be good. It's the hole spacing that really matters not the legs.
